FAQs

  • Can I claim electricity costs on a BYD?

    The ATO allows two methods of reimbursement via novated leasing. These methods are either a flat, distance-based claim of 4.2c/km or a true cost-of-charging claim for a BYD. The flat, distance-based claim depends on the number of kilometers traveled at the time of making the claim, whereas the true cost-of-charging claim is based on each expense incurred at a supercharger port or from a home electricity bill. You cannot use a mix of the two methods and must choose one or the other, depending on your personal circumstances.

  • Can I take out a novated lease on a used BYD?

    You are welcome to speak with our leasing consultants about leasing a second-hand BYD. However, to qualify for FBT exemption, the BYD must have been first used on or after July 2022 and must fall under the FBT threshold of $91,387

  • Are the prices advertised the actual prices or would they vary?

    Prices advertised on our website are purely a guideline outlined for our customers’ reference. Actual prices would vary based on your individual circumstances.

  • How can I save on a BYD through a novated lease?

    You can save on the purchase price of a BYD through a novated lease. By signing a novated lease on a BYD, you can save on

    1) GST costs
    2) FBT costs (On eligible models only)
    3) Use your pre-tax income to pay for insurance, registration, fuel and other maintenance costs
    4) Access to discounted Flare pricing
