Employsure had already been using an HR system which only concentrated on onboarding employees. They felt they were lacking an end-to-end solution that stayed with employees throughout their employee lifecycle. They were looking for a system that enabled them to not only allow them to continue their onboarding processes, but one that also enabled them to remain up to date with HR data and admin, as well as follow their employees right through to offboarding.

Performance Management

Performance reviews had been incredibly time consuming and hard to track across excel spreadsheets. The entire process from start to end would take an entire month, and with performance reviews taking place every quarter, according to Employsure’s Talent Team Leader, Jess Van Der Walt, “by the time the process was done, it was almost time to start again.” This was not only a lengthy process, but it also took a lot of manpower as it took seven people and 266 hours to make sure 380 performance reviews were in check”.

With Flare, Employsure has been able to cut the entire performance management process down from a full months work to just two weeks with 85% less of the manpower. They no longer use excel spreadsheets, as the data is stored on the Flare platform from which they are able to pull reports and collect a years worth of valuable data. By applying analytics, they can now clearly identify what managers need to focus on with each individual, to see them further engaged in their role and performing better.


Employsure are now able to extend their onboarding process to a full end-to-end solution allowing them to store up to date employee data from start to end, all in one place. They now keep track of employee activity on the platform, as well as understand when employees make changes to their details and salary packages. They are also now able to easily offboard employees at no extra effort, as it is part of the system. Employee feedback has been positive as they feel the platform is super intuitive, easy to use and is “noticeable that Flare is designed for the end user” and not just for HR admin.

Employee Financial Wellbeing

Whilst Employsure had not necessarily been looking for a new way to offer benefits to their employees, they now are able to provide a whole new range of different benefits. This was not a top priority for Employsure, however, it has been considered a great bonus as their employees use the benefits on a regular basis saving money on different retailers, with JB Hi-Fi, Myer and Coles amongst the most popular.
